Here's to February

A part of me believes that this month took forever to end but then when I look the other way it zoomed right on by. Where do I begin? January was definitely a great month and an awesome start to my year of redemption. It brought me new friends; new music, awesome shows, meeting the love of my life (John Gomez) and I think the best thing is that January brought me was the ability to take a rather huge step out of my comfort zone.

Feel Better Wednesday:Thanks for Nothing/Red Rubber Ball

I've decided to try something different this “Feel Better Wednesday”. As you all know I usually post songs that help a person who is feeling down feel better and I can only hope I've done well thus far. However I have decided to post a different song today, two songs actually, for myself and anyone else in a similar situation.

Temorary Bliss; Recap.

It’s almost been a week since I last blogged; I even missed ‘Q and A Saturday’. I’ve been stuck with a cold and sinus infection due to standing three hours in the rain before the concert last Sunday and possibly standing outside taking pictures with The Summer Set and The Cab guys 45 minutes AFTER the concert.

Feel Better Wednesdays: Perfect!

I’ve noticed quite a few people on Twitter and Facebook posting depressing tweets and statuses lately. You’re sad, hurt, disappointed and maybe you’re letting frustration get the best of you; I get it. I’ve been there, recently actually, today just hasn’t been my day.

Q&A Saturday

Good morning my dears, today is Saturday so here is week two of Q and A Sats. The questions I picked for today work out perfectly since I will be attending The Summer Set and The Cab concert tonight (and yes there will be PLENTY of pictures on my next post). So let’s get to it!

Feel Better Wednesdays: Hello, Goodnight!

Bad days, we’ve all had them. It’s hard to smile on days when we feel like the universe is against us, what are we supposed to do? Some people brush it off, pretend nothing happened and move on which is good for the most part but others let it affect them to their breaking point.

Happy Birthday Gabby!

Happy birthday to my best friend in the whole wide world, Gabriela Mena! Our friendship has been through the tough times and the best times and I can honestly say that I couldn't have been blessed with a better friend than her.

Q&A Saturday

I have decided to start “Q & A Saturday” and this shall be my first entry. It was a last minute decision which is why (as those who follow me know) I was accepting questions on Twitter. There were quite a few interesting questions and I was debating on whether I should answer five questions every Saturday or ten every two Saturdays and with that I decided on five. Now let’s see how this goes…

Feel Better Wednesdays: The Middle

It’s a new year with new beginnings and there is always some good to come within that. No one should start off the New Year in tears and pain but of course we all have those days where we just want to stay away from the world. I have decided to start “Feel Better Wednesdays” where I shall post an amazing song from my feel better playlist.

Blast From The Past Update :)

After some procrastination I finally finished my Blast From The Past entries! I found it fascinating how I remembered each detail of the memories I selected and as I was writing them they played in my head as if I were watching a movie.

Blast From The Past: Junior Year; Fall Semester...Now.

This past year has been quite the roller coaster. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs and I even came across the thought if I wanted to continue with school or not. After taking a semester off I realized while debating on what to do with my life, I should at least take classes and I did which brings us to now. I finally decided on a major (Journalism and Social Work) and I am pacing myself so I don’t rush into anything. Fall semester was hard but only because of what I was dealing with outside of school.

Blast From The Past: Sophomore Year, College Style!

My sophomore year of college had major bumps along the road. Unfortunately for me the dorms were full at main campus and finding an apartment in Flagstaff was nearly impossible. I did however find an apartment with a friend (no longer friends) in Tempe which resulted in myself taking online courses. Along with that, this was the year I was head over heels in love with my then boyfriend and of course my playlist habits kicked in more.

Blast From The Past: Freshman Year, College Style!

Freshman year of college, I never thought this day would come. Things were so different than high school, I loved it. Sigh, ah Flagstaff you are a delight. I went from 100 degree to a mere high of 70 and there is where I fell in love with the weather. For those who have read previous posts you know I have the tendency to make playlist for certain moods and days so living in a place where it snowed definitely deserved a playlist, right?

Blast From The Past: Senior Year!

My senior year of high school was a fairly easy one for me, since I took senior classes during my junior year the only class I ever stressed over was my calculus class. Other than that the year was a breeze. I remember walking around campus with my iPod on singing and “dancing” between

Blast From The Past: Junior Year!

My junior year of high school had to be one of the best years of my life thus far. It was full of laughs and smiles, awesome friends and AMAZING music. This particular year my love of music was broaden a bit and I was introduced to the wonderful world of ska. I remember my first ska show like it was yesterday, Streetlight Manifesto and The Aquabats, it was the first time I

Happy New Year my dears, I hope 2012 is treating you as well as it is treating me. Yesterday morning I woke up and went to mass with my sister; there is something about being there that makes me feel happier and encourages me to be a better person, which is why I am glad I went. Let’s add an Arizona Cardinal win and a Dallas Cowboys loss and I believe there couldn’t have been a more perfect way to start off not only the week but the year as well.
Today I decided to get a jump start on my new year’s resolution, as cliché as it may be my new year’s resolution was in fact to lose weight. Starting last March I was working out quite consistently and happened to lose a few pounds but once July came around the Arizona heat had me running every once in awhile and once school started I was fine if I ran once a week. November I started working till 7 pm which meant literally NO working out for me unless I played the Wii . However I decided to give it another go to prove that I can and to feel better about myself. So far so good and I am excited to see how I will improve over this first month!
I am anxious for the 14th and 15th of this month, I will be attending the Everything’s Fine Symphony Soldier tour and will be MEETING The Summer Set, words can’t explain how excited I am for that. Now if only Hot Chelle Rae will add Arizona to their Beautiful Freaks tour though there is talk of a possible road trip for the San Diego show, fingers crossed.
Anyway I am excited for this year because I believe that this is going to be an amazing year. 3 months from today I shall be 21 years old, my sister graduates from high school, fingers crossed I will be back at NAU main campus, family vacation to Disneyland and the beach and so much more. It's a leap year so we have 366 days to make this right, here's to 2012!
X’s and O’s,
alicia.
